PTJ Shop has a reputation for machining quality parts from PC. We can machine intricate parts on our CNC Swiss machines and CNC turning centers. Polycarbonate is colorless, transparent, heat resistant, impact resistant, flame retardant, BI grade, and has good mechanical properties at normal use temperatures. Compared with polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate has good impact resistance, high refractive index and good processing performance. It has UL94 V-2 flame retardant performance without additives. However, polymethyl methacrylate is relatively inexpensive compared to polycarbonate and can be produced by bulk polymerization. PC plastic has a machining cost factor of 0.7 when compared to steel 12L14. |
